WEIRTON — Christmas is making its way to the Ohio Valley, and Weirton is ready to celebrate.

The City of Weirton and the Renaissance Weirton Committee have once again organized Christmas on Main Street, including the city’s annual tree lighting celebration, to take place 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. Nov. 20 along Main Street from Cove Road to Marland Heights Road.

“Last year was a huge success,” Mayor Harold Miller said. “We’re expecting a large crowd.”

In addition to the City of Weirton, sponsors include the Frontier Group of Companies, Cleveland-Cliffs, Weirton Medical Center and Nick’s Auto Sales.

The festivities will include free ice skating, inflatables, LED miniature golf, food trucks, live entertainment from local bands, dance groups, the Brooke High School Madrigal Choir and the Weirton Christian Center Signs of Hope.

It will all be capped off by the tree lighting in front of the Millsop Community Center at 7 p.m. and a fireworks display.

The tree at the Millsop Community Center has been donated by the Berdine family, with trees at the north and south ends of the city contributed by the Kolosky family.

Area organizations, crafters and more will be set up throughout the area.

“We have over 40 vendors,” Miller said.

According to information provided by the city, food vendors are set to include Hot Bunz Food Truck, Martoni’s Fire Baked Pizza, Rusty Bull Taco, the Pink Pig, D&M’s Grille, Granato’s Deli, Mercy Baptist Church, All Saints Greek Orthodox Church, and Tate’s Teas.

Other vendors will include Patti’s Pretties, Liss and Company, Susan Costantini LuLaRoe, Thera-Jewel, Kim’s Country Designs, The Crystal Cave, Alicia Cerullo Color Street, Bodnar Boards, Kathy’s Creative Crafts, Shan’s Shop Designs, Lea Lea’s Bakery, The Kraft Shack, Best You Boutique, Brenda Rommes, Blizzard of Bling, Cotton Candy City, Renee Boilegh, Kaleidoscope II, Barbara’s Embroidery, Crow’s Hollow Botanicals, Made with Love Tie Dyes, Twister Leopard Kreations, Vicki Williams Wreaths and Things, FloEnvy Acrylics, KD Unique Boutique, Klutch Resin, Chris Cross Creations, The Crafty Meadow Shop, Light Up Toys, CK&K Creations, Design by W.E., Campfire Crafts, Pure Rose Organics and Hyperion Laser.
